Our Testing Methodology

How we test nugget ice makers to deliver accurate, unbiased results.

1) Test Bench & Instruments

  • Calibrated thermometers & data loggers (freeze/melt curves)
  • Sound level meter (SPL at 0.5m and 1m)
  • Power meter (idle / peak / cycle draw)
  • Flow/weight rig for hourly output & nugget size distribution

2) Protocol

  1. 24-hour pre-conditioning and water standardization
  2. Timed production runs with weight logging each 10 minutes
  3. Self-clean verification; sanitation checks for food-contact surfaces
  4. Usability: hopper loading, bin ergonomics, maintenance access

3) Scoring

Weighted model: production rate, ice quality, noise, energy use, cleaning, ownership cost. Ties broken by reliability signals.

4) Bias Safeguards

Separate editorial/commercial teams. No vendor-paid placements in lab results. Repeat measurements and blind comparisons where possible.
